Skiing in Canada – A Cracking Winter Ski Safari

Why Canada?

There’s a marked difference between holidaying in a European ski resort and a Canadian one. That’s not to say one is better than the other – simply different. What’s important is what appeals to you, personally. We at Summit & Blue are passionate about skiing in Canada and we know areas like Kicking Horse, Panorama, Black Diamond, Banff and Lake Louise like the back of our hands – so it’s no surprise you’ll get a chance to ski all of these on our Canadian Winter Ski Safari.

Our Managing Director, Richard, considers Canada his home away from home: he has family there and his brother works as an airline pilot. But it’s not just the huge beers and even bigger steaks that make the Summit & Blue team love Canada so much – although that does seem to come up quite a lot. It’s everything else that comes along with the experience of skiing in Canada. The whole country has a far more laid-back kind of vibe about it than Europe – the pace is a lot slower and everyone seems a lot more relaxed. You really do get that famous ‘service with a smile’ here and there are always plenty of friendly ski hosts on hand to help with any queries and keep safety measures front and centre.

Great Pistes, Great Facilities

In terms of the actual skiing, snowboarding, ski touring and cross-country skiing in Canada, there’s a lot to like – and you’ll get to experience the very best of it on the Canadian Winter Ski Safari. The pistes (known as trails in Canada) are much wider than European ones, they’re well groomed and manicured and you can expect consistently excellent snow conditions. There are fewer ski lifts, but there’s more backcountry and an absolutely massive terrain at your disposal.

We’re proud of our ski safari, as it takes in some of Canada’s very best resorts. But don’t forget we can also tailor any itinerary to your own specific needs, so you can mix and match activities and destinations as much as you like. If you’d prefer to spend more time ski touring and staying in a remote lodge than in the resorts and on groomed pistes, we’ll make it happen.

Because of the variety we’re able to offer, the Canadian Winter Ski Safari is great for families and skiers of all abilities. It’s not so focused on one resort and you’ll get to experience a diverse range of very different locations. If you can hire your own wheels you’ll get even more out of the experience by getting out and exploring.

Consider Canada!

Our fabulous Canadian Winter Ski Safari holiday is absolutely cracking – if we may say so ourselves. If you’ve always wanted to go skiing in Canada, or always wanted to go back, this holiday is ideal for you as you’ll get the best of a number of areas and exciting winter activities all rolled into one action-packed itinerary. You’ll be able to get direct flights from the UK and don’t even have to contend with a language barrier – Canada might just turn out to be closer than you imagined!
