Fantastic Activity Holidays for All

What Makes a Great Family Activity Holiday?

We often get asked what makes a good activity holiday and we are firm believers in diversity – especially when it comes to children. It’s all about sharing exciting, active experiences with your children and enabling them to grow in confidence as they rise to the challenge of gaining new skills – and have a whole lot of fun along the way! Of course, it’s also about safety and that’s why our Summit and Blue local guides and instructors are such an important part of the equation.

Whatever you feel is the right fit for your family, our amazing Summit and Blue staff have ‘been there and done that’ – meaning that we have personally experienced all the activities and destinations we offer on our bespoke itineraries. Whether you want a summer holiday walking in Languedoc-Roussillon, or a winter adventure exploring the fjords of Norway – or anything else that takes your fancy – we can make it happen.

Bonding and Emboldening

Yes, but why are these experiences better than a good old bucket and spade holiday to Menorca? We’ve spoken to so many guests who have come off a Summit and Blue holiday who’ve said they’d never spent so much quality time together as a family. There’s just something about stepping slightly outside your comfort zone, but with the security of the family group, that is incredibly bonding and confidence building.

Being able to create bespoke itineraries and using trusted local guides and instructors also allows us to ensure that every member of the family is catered to – and if you’ve got a range of ages, that’s very important. You can take on some activities as a family, then older children can try certain more challenging activities while the younger ones can still have fun, but in a safe, controlled environment. At the end of the day you’ll all come together with a shared sense of accomplishment and achievement – and that’s a feeling that money can’t buy.
